Some Chicago shots

On my walk to show a Loft on W Ontario to a real estate client. It was St Patrick's day so I took the train to avoid traffic and parking issues... The river was turned green further east - but it's always kinda green isn't it?

Very nice photos but they have almost a painterly quality to them. Did you use some type of PP to achieve this?

Yes. Quite a bit of PP. See: http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-408351-1.html

I use three exposure bracketing of almost every shot -- as I walk around the city and when I'm working doing architectural and real estate photos for hire.

I nearly always use layer blending and not traditional HDR tone mapping, but on these I slipped in a tone mapped layer to "perk" them up a bit since it was a cloudy grey day.

Some don't like the effect -- not realistic, or "photographic". But most of my clients like it, so....

Thanks. I like it, probably used for some scenarios but not others.
