I'm on several different forums, covering different topics, and UHH is the best in terms of features and performance. On one board, every time I make a post, I have to go to the bottom and do a couple of clicks to make sure I get email notifications for responses. Otherwise, I have to keep going back and looking for responses. We have better smilies here, and they are easier to use, although they always go at the end of the post. Another feature I like is the Private Messages. When I get a response, I get an email telling me. On other sites, I have to find the Messages section and search through that.

So, overall, we're lucky to have this forum working the way it does. Of course, I haven't even commented on the nice people and helpfulness of the questions and answers. That goes without saying. (But I sort of said it anyway. )

Three main negative issues here for me. One, the inability to delete posts, Two the time limit on editing a post you write. Three, the ignore feature. Other sites I am on don't have any of these limitations.

Ah, yes. I don't like the limit on the Editing. The Ignore feature is odd, too. We do have Chit Chat, though, something I haven't seen on other forums.

Yes, but the Attic is a definite negative for me, although I ignore it. I can't understand what it's doing on a photographic forum. The contents are too often more appropriate for a hate site. There is also very little oversight over behavior which often makes this a very contentious and abusive site. All the other forums I'm on all expect some decorum and respect for other members. If you don't play nicely you're banned.

When I click on a photo "Download" the photo is super large on my screen, like I zoomed way in on it. Does anyone know how to change it to just fill my screen and not be so large?

Jerry, are you over 100,000 posts on other forums?

When you click on the word download it should default to full-screen. It only goes to 100% when you click on the image itself after it's been downloaded.

I'm slightly adept at HTML so I just edit or type in smilies where I want them. But yes having automatically going to the end is annoying.

I Especially Like:

* Private Messages
* Smilies
* Some HTML (I for one use it), wish we had more fonts though.

I Dislike:

* Having smilies default to end
* Having photos default to end
* Ignore (senorring) List. I think that the Admin should control this and only temporarily for the most personal attacks on other members and not just because someone dislikes another's opinion or taste in photographs, or camera or computer brands. If someone does not want to read something they can just ignore it (for the most part). It seems really disingenuous to say "coments welcome" when any negative comment gets you "banished" by the poster and it seems all they "fan base". Again only Admin should be able to sensor for serious sarcasm or liable and only until a member perhaps learns to be nicer after a few weeks perhaps.
* The hour editing limit for posted posts
* Inability to completely delete a post
* Not being able to go back in a thread to my last post to it to see if there were any replies specifically by the OP or others to my reply(ies). It is annoying to have to scan thru 10 pages to find mine and find that it seems no one else read that far. As I recall I used to be able to do that.
* What is the point of the Attic? Stuff that obnoxious should just be "banned" or deleted from the site.
* I do wish Search feature worked better and so perhaps repeated questions automatically generated a list of a recently covered topic.
* And why don't we get a complete digest of all topics daily instead of a random sample that often does not even enclose our own OPs.

I also like the PTGui panoramic forum. Has most if not all of the UHH features.

Right! But at least it's out of Chit Chat and easier to avoid. I agree that it does not belong in a photo forum.
