Enjoyed zooming in with the download view.
A lot of detailed construction
The date above the door is 1833.
Well, captured!!
I have a similar shot from across the channel.
I'm a lighthouse chaser. Don't know if there is a cure for it, or not.....

Brent, I'm a big fan of HDR, and enjoy working in the HDR world. Initially, I had to 'hold myself back', for overdoing things is very easy to do. I think you have a great original image. With all due respect, I think your HDR image is way over done. My I suggest you try again, experiment, and try to hold back?
Another thought would be to separate the sky from the rest of the image, put it on a separate layer. Then experiment with levels on the sky. Once you like it, flatten the final image and then go to your HDR software. I'm not wanting to be critical, only constructive and sharing ideas.

As a lighthouse buff you might enjoy the book "Coffin Road". Here is an excerpt from a review of the book:
"The most famous incident in the history of Scotland’s Flannan Isles came just before Christmas 1900, when three keepers vanished from the lighthouse at the peak of Eilean Mòr. The unsolved mystery sets the scene for Peter May’s spooky Coffin Road."
Or you may enjoy the short story "Three Skeleton Key". I've never read it but have listened to the award winning radio adaption of the story a couple of times over the years. The original broadcast should be easily available on the web.
