Hi Pegasus, I got Steve's book on the autofocus system about a year ago and liked it so much I printed and bound it so I'd have a copy with me when/if I don't have access to my PDF copy. Take care & ...

If you opt for the legacy D7200, you're good to go. I purchased Mr. Perry's opus last December. It has updates for the D7500 in it, which is quite handy. I keep a copy on my Note 8 smartphone and my tablet as reference.

RJ,
My apologies for a rude and unnecessary response. It's been a long day bouncing thru airports starting at an unaccustomed 3:30-am. Not an excuse, just an explanation. sorry for the quick internet trigger. I've asked admin to delete my posts on this topic.

I am using the D7500 camera and I really like the image quality and focusing system, size and weight. When everyone was naysaying the camera Steve Perry gave it a good review which influenced me to buy it..... I'm curious though- why do you prefer Al lenses?

Hi suntouched
I don't prefer AI lenses as a rule. That said, almost all of my work is closeup shots and my best macro lens is an old Nikkor (1960??) AI 55mm that I've used on every 35mm or digital camera I've owned going back to the early-to-mid-90s. It's one of 3 AI lenses I have but it gets the most use. Anyway, thanks for your comment about the D7500. Take care & ...

I just went through the same exercise and decided on the D7200. It arrives tomorrow. Can't wait!
