While testing out my new telephoto lens I got lucky and at the Huntington Beach Pier they were having a USA Surfing contest going on. The waves were less than perfect but the surfers are all very talented and made up for the poor conditions.

Fascinating - - there is no camera info and no lens info in the EXIF data
Only Apple branding and Photoshop. Was this taken with your new 150-600 lens ?
And OBTW - - You are again unrivaled at surfer photos !!

Richard, I have fallen in love with my new lens! It's more than I expected it would be. Thanks for asking and thanks for the "good set" comment.

Thanks very much Merlin for the very kind comments about the photos. The probable reason why there is no data on the photos is because I make screen shots of them to post on UHH. The original photos are 57.1 megs and to large to post here. NO, these photos were not taken with my new 150-600 lens, I just sold that one. YES, it was taken with my new lens but it is a 100-400 L version II Canon. I love this new lens.
Thanks Merlin for saying I am unrivaled at surfer photos.......you make me happy! lol

Ha..you did make it out there (see my comment on your last post). All here are very good pictures with great action. New Lens? What type? I especially like #2, you caught her face, a look of concentration. I also like #9 (my favorite) very much, the high key effect combined with the bright surfer colors. Nice captures and thanks for sharing.

Mike

Do they surf right next to a pier?
The angle of view is overhead so I assume you either are strapped to a drone or you are shooting from a pier :-)

Surfing and Alpine ski racing are my fav sports photography. (Alpine racing is what got me into photography). These are awesome...as usual.
...itchy to go back to Hawaii and shoot those shore breaks :-)

Yeah Mike, I did see your comment on the other post. Thanks for liking the photos and saying they have great action. The new lens is a Canon 100-400 L II. It's amazing! You are going to see my photographic level bump up thanks to that lens. Yeah, I like the high key effect in #9 also......kind of different!
Let's go photograph the surfers together sometime from the pier!

crazydaddio, Yes, they surf next tothe pier. I was shooting from the pier. It's a great angle and sometimes when they go under the pier I can shoot straight down on them. Thanks crazydaddio for saying these are awesome as usual.
