Maybe he knows that the battery wouldn't last that long... 😅😂

I suppose King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain wasted funding on Christopher Columbus as well!

My friend and I rode our Harleys to the river at Titusville. We had a fantastic view of the space launch.

Man am I glad someone posted a notice about this. I think this is absolutely hilarious. Imagine if, millions of years in the future when humans have long disappeared, visitors from another star find this orbiting around in the asteroid belt. I wonder what they'd think?! All kidding aside, SpaceX has designed, built, tested and flown a number of boosters and spacecraft culminating with this 5-million-pound-thrust monster that Elon Musk has indicated will be the basis of his Mars flight. And he's done it in what, the last 7 or 8 years? In the meantime, NASA has been in the space business for the past 50 years and still can't get their "new" Orion rocket off the ground.

Personally, I’m extremely glad to see the US retake the lead in heavy lift capability with the demise of the shuttle program, and the simultaneous landing of two of the boosters is an amazing accomplishment. I was recently driving up the “space coast” past all the old places and companies that were alive and thriving when the shuttle program was active, and it’s sad to see the huge amount of talent in the area that was associated with the moon landing and shuttle program gone, so it’s great to see a private visionary bring some excitement and technical accomplishment back to the nation’s currently de-emphasized space program.

Remember Musk and "his" companies wouldn't exist without U.S. taxpayer money.

Elon Musk is amazing. One of his cars is going into orbit around Mars, and he was sending live video of it for a couple of hours. There are references to the Starman movie, David Bowie, and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - and Nicola Tesla, of course. Amazing pictures. I wonder, though, is that actually a dummy in the car, or is it a disgruntled employee?

Can the Tesla really handle the heat? I thought space ships had special tiles to protect them.

Key words...IT'S HIS MONEY!!.. And seeing that is going to be the heavy lift vehicle for his shot to Mars, how in the world can you call that a waste of money?
