Mendocino is a very photogenic town. Love it there. I used an image of me focusing my camera on a tripod at Mendocino for years as my iconic image on UHH. I'm using a shot of me and the Tetons currently.

Part of the charm of our north coast is to be found in the little town of Mendocino as well as in some of the state parks. Besides the normal architecture, I love a little lighthouse at Pt. Cabrillo and the caretakers' cottages that are now available as vacation rentals.

Hope you enjoy these.

Thank you. I did enjoy them. Very nice.

Glad you enjoyed these Doc. I'm sure the next to the last shot could be rented, but character comes with a price.

So true!

Great shots Vicki. I'm planning on taking my wife there in a few weeks. Can you suggest any good restaurants?

Certainly Beaujolais. Make reservation. When we were there about 6 years ago, I ordered Duck and it was absolutely superb. I was reminded when we lived in France! My wife’s main course of fish was also ex excellent.

Mendocino has a special place in my heart. I have spent some very quality time in this northern California hamlet.

This is a very fine set Vicki! You found some interesting architecture and I'm glad you included at least one water tower, they are kind of an historic symbol of the town. Wonderful color and compositions in each of these. Thanks, this makes me look forward to an annual February gathering for a Mendocino week with friends from up and down the coast. Much fun and probably too much wine!

Thanks for taking time to look and comment cambriaman. We went to your area years ago when the kids were young. I've always wanted to see the Tetons, and they're high on my list of places to visit.

See Hugh's comment below your original. Besides Beaujolais, MacCallum House has a lovely restaurant. Little River Inn used to be good, but I haven't eaten there in years and can't say one way or the other. Ledford House has also been a great place to eat. Once again, it's been a while so I don't know whether it's still as good as we remember.

I like to cook and have a quiet evening in. We didn't eat out much on this trip other than a couple of lunches. I suspect you'd do well to read some reviews on line since I seem to have dropped the ball on this topic.

I suspect you'll enjoy your trip regardless of where you eat or what kind of weather you have. The whales should be migrating in greater numbers, too. There's always plenty to see and do. Curling up by a fire with a good book and a glass of wine is a nice option on rainy afternoons, too.

Have fun Mark. I'll look forward to hearing about your trip and seeing some fantastic photos.

Mendocino is a popular destination for many travelers. We've been going to that area for years, renting a different house almost every time. It has a distinctive character that is very appealing as well as being full of wonderful photo ops.

Thanks for taking time to look and comment Steve.

The water towers are abundant, and it's almost impossible to get a shot of the town without including at least one. As I recall, one place has even turned one into a unique guest cabin.

I hope you have a great time at your gathering - with or without "too much wine!"
