Molly, the Dachshund, is the epitome of a "lover". Gracie, despite heroic efforts, had to be euthanized a month or so ago because of a variety of quick onset ailments. She was our son's rescued boxer, and perhaps the best dog of all time.
When he brought her home my wife was waiting inside the house to collect and deal with her fear of boxers due to a near attack many years ago. I went outside to greet the new arrival and after a cursory hello she dashed inside and placed a big wet kiss on my wife - - - it was like she knew. We had 7 great years with her, not a mean bone in her body. She loved everyone and protected the grandchildren. Gracie will be greatly missed. Molly is wonderful in her own right, and does wonderfully at 12+ years of age.

Many heartfelt condolences on the loss of your Gracie. She looks like a sweetheart. I've had seven boxers and have never had one that wasn't the best dog I ever had. Such a loyal and loving breed. I sure hope you'll get another one. Just remember, they're puppies until they hit 8 or so, but I'm sure you know that!!

Boxers never fail to amaze me their love is boundless. Petfinder.com has thousands just looking for their forever home. They know when they have been rescued and they know how to rescue!

Thanks to all those who expressed their condolences. One more thing about Gracie the Boxer: Sick as she was towards the end, she would still do her best to rise and greet whomever came into the room and to continue to believe she was the world's largest lap dog.

Nice pics... looks like a happy dog. I like all breeds even if they are a "dash of something else"!

This is Bob. We rescued him about 2.5 yrs. ago. Jury is out on what he is. He came wandering out of the woods with a chain wrapped around his neck and between his front legs. He also had a pellet removed from just under his scalp. We got him from the foster family. I am quite sure that it is he who rescued me.

Beautiful puppy! You'd never guess the wet shots are the same dog as the dry one. Rescued dogs know they are rescued and are so grateful. You've got a good one!

We do indeed. Yes he seems to change color in different light as well. I'm still not sure if he's red or brown.

We've actually had 2 or 3 big dogs at a time over the years too. Right now it's 2 so I can identify with the whole couch ownership thing. My big ole lab pretty much gets to do whatever he wants these days.
