Provided you have auxiliary speakers. It looks like the internet radio
is using some sophisticated sound technology.
I often listen to Pandora when I'm at the computer, but it's limited to one computer and its speakers. With the Internet radio, I have an FM transmitter that sends the signal all over the property. I was in the garage most of the day, and I could listen to it there.

My favorite is
radioparadise.com
Far and away the best station I’ve found.
What happen to the good old AM or AM/FM radio or shortwave radio?
I don't know what I would do without Internet radio. I have a tabletop Sangean wfr-1 radio (now discontinued -
http://www.sangean.com/products/product.asp?mid=23) in my office and use the Yamaha DVR in the Home Entertainment System. My favorites are WWOZ.org (New Orleans) and KUVO.org (Denver) but have been known to listen to many others.
I can also recommend Applian's Replay Radio program (
http://applian.com/replay-radio/) -- it is $2.95 a month subscription or comes as part of the Replay Capture Suite (
http://applian.com/replay-capture-suite/) for a one-time $79. Don't rule out the Suite, however, until you look at all it can do.
Anyway, I use "Replay Radio" to automatically record, for instance, three programs on Sunday morning from WWOZ -- "Hazel and the Delta Ramblers" (very old-time Bluegrass), Cajun and Zydeco w/Charles Laborde or Jim Hobbs," and "Acoustic Blues w/Cousin Dimitri." That way I can listen in my own time and place.
I have been using an "Echo Dot" from Amazon. Connected to my WiFi for signal and hard wired to
stereo amp(aux input). Am a classical music buff, listen to WQXR(NYC) and KUSC(LA). But there are literally
100's of stations to listen to. Signal is eceptionaly clean. Doc T.
Oh! I forgot about that. "Alexa, play WQXR."
Great sound. I will add that to my list... as well as KUSC.
We've got several around the house Jerry, we don't have any tv, not for 30 years or so. The wireless oh yes, we've had internet radio fo over ten years, they are on every day!

There is one radio station in my area that starts playing Christmas music 24/7 on Thanksgiving to Christmas. They lost a listener for the next month.

I listen to Pandora so I can make my own stations based on my favorite artists. I'm too cheap to buy the premium version, but I don't mind the occasional advertisement on the free version. It's worth it's weight in gold to be able to hear what I want to hear when I'm out and about. I absolutely hate commercial radio. The best artists get ignored because they won't grease the program director's palm with the $$$ required to get airplay. Payola is very much alive and well, if not worse than ever!
No need for internet radio. I have more than 11,000 songs on my iPod, all stuff I like from CDs I have, or bought online. I have made numerous playlists of different genres of music, or favorites, or I just pick a favorite artist and listen to all their songs. If I get an urge to hear a particular song or artist, I can do it.
Being able to carry around my entire music collection when I'm out and about is amazing.

I too love classical. If you are not familiar with WNED-FM 94.5 in Buffalo NY please check it out. Classical music 24/7.
