I took a trip over to the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive now that it re-opened after the hurricane damage. I heard there was a Female Vermillion Flycatcher in the area. For this bird to be in Florida is sort of a rarity. The Vermillion flycatcher is a south western bird. It was easy to find as it was being watched by several people, so I went on around the loop. When I came back the crowds were gone so I went out to where they were and lucky me I found it.

Great set. This bird knows how to strike a pose.
Well done. Posing just for you. vz
Very pretty little bird and quite a find! I haven't been since they reopened but have to make a visit very soon.
Congrats, and a very beautiful set of downloads!

Great photos, lovely bird. Glad to hear Apopka is now open, last month a trip for nothing along with a few others who failed to check the web site. At least I got to watch a great Seaplane show in Tavares so the trip was not in vain

Nice Shots. I saw her 12-31-2017, it was mid day light and lots of people also. I did get her picture but at quite a distance and poor light. Yours turned out much better.

According to the range maps, a Florida sighting of this bird might be considered a rarity. Great shots. I especially like your second: great pose and well positioned in the frame, really nice background. But what I really like is the softness of the image. The bird is not quite sharp, but the affect is wonderful from my perspective. I don't know if you did this on purpose, or whether it just showed up that way, but I really like it.
Pretty birds. Congratulations on capturing this little lady.
beautifully captured! Wished we had those up here in the northwest
