I don't trust microsnot any further than their bank account - - but using their OS I can build stuff for half the price of equivalent crapple stuff.
Oh yeah - - crapple is closed box - - you CAN'T build their stuff

Well - - it's one I've been saving up a year or more to build as well.
There is no commercial equivalent as mine is geared toward Gaming, but commercial HDD are typically 3x the price of consumer grade - even the NAS versions.
I could have built it cheaper - less redundancy, fewer disk drives, and would have saved $700 by only having a single video card instead of 3 in SLI
But then the computer I built in the 1990s still runs - Windows 3.11 and Ami Pro word processing - -
I almost lost my data drive in the late 1990's - - and swore I'd never come that close again
If my house catches fire - my 12 TB network server where all is backed up is coming with me - -

I don't think the MAC OS could handle my machine.
I have 7 HDD; 4 rotating disks in RAID-5, 2 SSDs in RAID-1 and the 7th is a small SSD used as a swap file.
I have 3 NVidia STRIX GTX 970 in SLI - - all running a 34" high-res monitor.
MAC doesn't build such a beast - nor will they permit any end user to build an equivalent.
For those who prefer everything built in - no thought required - - crapple is your huckleberry
Those of us who build our own - microsnot is the only choice - - UNLESS you're a true geek - -
THEN you go Linux (I'm not there yet)

Just built a system for a friend with a Ryzen 5 CPU from AMD. Nothing else over the top. Nvidia video card, 16 gig of RAM, 256gig SSD and 6T HDD. Does all he wants and thats all you can ask really but It is QUICK!!

Yep - - I understand the need for speed. My old computer was taking 5 minutes to boot Win Vista (total crap OS).
My new one boots Win 10 in 30 sec, loads PS (off the SSD - one of the few apps loaded on the system drive) in 5 sec.

And it's backed up to my 12TB QNAP 451 NAS (also RAID-5)
And the NAS is backed up (every Sunday) to an external 12 TB JBOD array.
