The 7DII is rated to 200,000 cycles. Has yours failed? Has anyone ever heard of a 7DII shutter failure?

Standard shutter replacement cost is quoted around $350. Only Canon or an authorized repair facility can confirm their exact pricing.

But seriously, if a shutter did died at age around it's minimum expected life, usage would need to be in the volumes of an average of 1000 images every week for 50 weeks in a year for 4 years ... of course possible, but that's serious heavy usage where I'd expect back-up bodies as well as support / maintenance contracts to also exist for professional-level usage.

I had a shutter failure on one of my 7D2's at 10 months and 31,000 shots. It was replaced under warranty so I have no idea of the cost.

Unless it was under warranty, I'd start looking for a new camera.

You're right about the estimate. I had a shutter failure on my original 7D a few years back at only around 18,000 actuations, but unfortunately for me just a month out of warranty and Canon charged me about $360 to repair it. That too I believe was rated for around 150,000 actuations.

I'm surprised that the Canon 7D and 7D Mark 2 having shutter failure problems, way before the expected lifespan of at least 150,000+ shutter clicks. The 7D Mark 2 is known to be a very good crop sensor sports action camera. Another camera that has a reputation for early shutter failure is Sony's A-55 translucent mirror DSLTs. Now discontinued. Sony was charging $250 a few years back to repair its shutter on that camera.

This sounded like it might be an interesting clip. Alas, the videographer shot many more interesting frames of the tech's right forearm than of the work he did on the camera.

I have a seconds Canon 7d Mk ii... and it has been given me soft snaps!! What could be the issue.. All images were at ISO 100, f/6.3, 1/1250, at 600 MM from a Sigma 150-600MM C, lense.
Was my ISO slow?? Or is it the focusing system of the camera?
