I am interested in creating an on-line gallery for some of my better images. Mostly it is to display them in some "themed" sub-galleries, but it also will offer them for sale and provide a means to do so.

Any advice on web-based systems for doing this? Which web providers offer this type of website and hosting?

Thanks for any advice.

You can do that on Fine Art America. It costs $30/year and for that you get your own website address and you can upload as many images as you like. They do the printing and the collecting. And their printing is pretty good.

If you have the Adobe Creative Cloud program, then you have access to Adobe Portfolio, a very easy to create and maintain for photographs. If not, you can use Viewbug, 500pix, etc.

If you use Lightroom there are the built-in Galleries. And, also, a number of Third Parties have excellent Plug-ins. There are several of them but "The Turning Gate" (http://theturninggate.net/) comes to mind. The Lightroom Queen has a list on her website at https://www.lightroomqueen.com/links/web-galleries/.
