These are some shots I took with an old Nikon FM. I picked it up on ebay for about $30 or so. I slapped on a 50mm f/1.8 e series lens and it seems to work pretty well. The film is Tri-x and I tried "stand" developing. I think it works ok; but it does produce very grainy images. That can be ok; but many of these I had to do serious noise reduction. Do you like any of these?

I like them all, Erich--nice compositions, and the grain looks pretty normal to me for old-style b&ws

Nice B & W photos. Looks like Island Hts NJ and Belmar boardwalk.

Thanks for bring back the Jersey shore for me one more time before winter sets in. I particularly like #3. You captured a day on the boardwalk on a dreary day. Nice going.

I like no.2, 4 less so (but more because of the subject) and 1 & 2 I feel are spoiled by the centre pillar and lamp standard.

The first three are keepers, the last one only if it has some personal connection as a documentary, but meaningless to an outsider.
No. 2 I really like!!

Thanks, Frank. That last one did not get the Ooompf I expected. I still like the geometric aspects and I think that sixties modern really looks dated through the filter of the years.

Thank you. The grain does not bother me at all. Some folks don't like it. To each his own. Thanks again for the comments.

You know your N.J. geography. Exactly right. Glad you enjoyed the photos.

Hopefully we will get some snow this year. I really enjoy shooting the boardwalk with snow on it. Glad you enjoyed the photos.

I had not seen the pillar as a distraction; but your point is well taken. The lamp at the end of the dock appeals to me. Again, I can understand where it could be seen as a distraction. I might clone it out and see how I like it like that. Thanks for your thoughtful comments.

No. 2 is, by far, my favorite shot of this bunch. I was hoping for something more with the last shot. As shot, I think it is too dead on and static. Never gets above the level of documentation. Thank you for your comments.
