The Sony 10-18, f4, OSS, while not cheap, is an awesome lens, pair that with the Sony SEL 18-200 and you got it covered.

Very much agree! I use it both for landscapes and for city shots - works very well in some of the old towns here in Europe, with their narrow streets. And, while not the perfect walk-around lens, at 18mm (= 24mm FF equivalent), it is sharp enough that I can crop without fear when I happen to have only that one with me.

Love my A6000 and don't have battery issues others have talked about. Always carry a spare battery but have never needed it.

The sensors between the two are not different. What is different is the wiring harnesses, with the a6300's being superior. Another sensor difference is the number of focus points of which there are two kinds: contrast difference and phase difference, which in the end enables faster focusing in the a6300.

I own the a6000, primarily for travel, coupled with the 10-18/f4 and 18-105/f4. The 18-105 is not a light lens so I lost some of the weight advantage I was seeking. However, between these two lens, I'd have to work at being more pleased. Whatever you do, buy a couple extra batteries and a charger. "jimdandy"s experience is the exception.

Choose any of the three, IQ great in all three..

A less expensive wide-angle option than the Sony 10-18mm for the A6300 is the Rokinon 12mm F2.0 NCS CS Ultra Wide Angle Lens Sony E-Mount, its totally manual, excellent quality that produces really high quality results...use it and love it. ~$350 range but can be purchased for less on eBay

It’s a personal call, obviously, but when in you’re position I went with the 6000, deciding that the extra expense wasn’t worth it to me.

Same here, there are certainly advantages to the 6300 and the 6500, but for me, it wasn't worth the cost. Save the money and buy a lense.

Playing with my sons a6500. First thing I noticed is how much it seems to weigh compared to my a6000. It does have a better frame.
