While there is no bad trip to the Smokies, we went last weekend and were a little disappointed. There was no color in the lower elevations, and tropical storm Nate stripped most of the trees in the higher elevations the week before.
Yes, there was a tropical storm warning in the Smokies.
Makes you think with all the politicians denying climate change that the climate said "hold my beer for a minute".
But I did take a few shots. The prettiest part of the trip was a detour driving home along Junaluska Road in the Nantahala area.

I like #'s 4 and 5, water that looks like water. Nice shots. REJ.

I have seen some pleasing shots where the water looks like milk...but not many...I'm with you on that subject.
Outstanding series! I love the morning light in #1. What a beautiful area.

You got the most from a disappointing fall; great shots. A dry August has resulted in little east coast color--mostly brown leaves. We spent a disappointing color weekend in Shenandoah National Park Oct 11-15, but great hiking weather. A bad weekend in the mountains is better than a great day at work.
Very appealing set of images.
Nice set...that 1st one is a killer shot. Good job.
