I agree, but what is hurting them the most is the lack of leadership! Just saw many, many, refrigerated containers with food, medicine, water and other supplies setting untouched and waiting for distribution, but roads must be cleared and repaired and trucks and drivers available for delivery; such a shame as so many of the people are desperate for help.

Your politics are so obvious! Would it help your "butt" hurt if we apologized for not voting for Hillary...nah, forget that, be an adult, and just get over it! OMG, if she had won, someone would still be reading the Jones Act to her while she questions "is this as bad as Benghazi?!?"

Yep, and it'll be reported by numerous 'anonymous sources'....just like Russia, Russia, Russia...it can't get any crazier by the press, still can't accept the results...oh well

This has nothing to do with my politics, so don't jump to conclusions. Trump allowed waivers for TX and FL, but only now waived it for Puerto Rico. This is not a political post on my part. Many prominent Republicans have been after Trump to lift that waiver and get help to those people. It should not have taken him a week to do so. The island has been totally devastated, and they needed help on Day One!

I don't recall mentioning Hillary.

If I remember right the Jones Act was to protect American seamen and their jobs, the problem is that we do not have US Flag bottoms, ships, every thing is under foreign flags as they have lower safety and pay standards, too easy for the profiteers to get around our incomplete regulations

You are absolutely correct; the main purpose of the Jones Act was safety of the seamen. The between American ports restriction was just added as an easier way to enforce some of the safety regutlations, and when it has been "in the way" like the earthquakes and destruction of Haiti a few years back, it normally gets suspended for a time. Why not this time? The politicians are probably too busy hiding from the "dishonoring the flag fiasco" the press & NFL is trying to turn into the worst problem we have. Perhaps we should suspend the football year and send all the press, san cameras and recorders, to PR to help hump broken concrete and clean the place up!!

Having done it several times in my younger, and stronger days, I thought humping broken pieces of concrete was work! I think we are all reading off the same page of discontent with the AFL.

If the hag of Arkansas had won we would have been up to our necks in WWIII months ago. But don't worry libertards, the same forces are still doing everything in their power to still start it. You may still get your wish.

Although that is a typical response, not many care that Hillary lost. What bothers most is that we have an ignorant, racist, homophobic, xenophobic madman ruining our freedoms one by one, destroying our standing in the world community, and placing our country in danger with every move he makes, tweet he posts, and ignorant word he utters. Has nothing to do with liberal vs. conservative. Has to do with common sense. Very easy to understand, from what appears to be all real unbiased polls, the majority of us.

I see your libertard bleeding heart having terrible spasms. I also see that you are an avid watcher of the fake news and take in every filthy lie they post. Trump is trying to defuse obozo's lack of balls and butt kissing to the terrorist muslims and now the moronic American libertard racial morons. Wonder where you fall in here?

The Jones Act is also Hurting the USA. We take a number of cruises every year and they go up and down the coast lines, including Alaska. The Jones Act requires the ships to go to at least one port outside the US. Therefore, the cost of the cruise is higher and a port-a-call in the US is not being used, thereby not allowing the US City to provide the tours to the people on the ship. For example, we went on a 15 day cruise to Hawaii and back to Los Angeles. Therefore, we went to a foreign port in Ensenada, Mexico because of the Jones Act, instead of maybe a port-a-call in San Diego. We were in Ensenada for no more than 15 minutes and the ship left for Los Angeles. Hopefully, some day the Jones Act will be removed or at least updated to eliminate this from happining in the future.

I disagree with Trump on issues , others are just good plain common sense . And that is the way it usually is with any elected official . But the media wants to destroy him for a few reasons . Leftists run the media and Trump continually kicks down the front door of political correctness . He threatens Leftist power . Their best assurance of a job is to massively expand government . Trump bashing is profitable . Deregulation upsets lawyers , it hits them in their pockets . I could go on , but remember this . And I mean this sincerely . If Trump found a cure for Cancer tomorrow they would find fault in that . And that is the level of insanity we are dealing with .
He's all for American self preservation , but the Leftists see that as arrogance .
This country is in serious trouble .

You must think that nothing was being done to help the people on Puerto Rico befor the repeal of the Jones act. Ships off all sorts have been bringing goods for some time. I have been to PR twice befor the storm, most likely the roads and ports have been rendered pretty much useless.

How come all of a sudden most everyone is now an expert of the Jones act?
Most people never heard or cared about it before. God bless the media.

With over 90% of the news being owned by liberals that swore to do every thing in their power to get the Donald Impeached. When their darling Hillary lost. We Americans saw right through their lies. We knew that the bag lady had so much baggage she could hide in the shadow of a cork screw. Remember how they lied and said Hillary would win by a landslide. We wouldn't expect anything else from the lib owned news. They have lost all their creditable. They now try to make the news instead of reporting it.
