I noticed in the video that here is a polarizing filter command although Ratcliff didn't use it, unless I missed it. I'm wondering how effective it is compared to using a polarizer at the time of capture. Anyone with any experience with this?

I've used it and it is definitely only second best to a CPL. So far, no software can produce the effect of eliminating glare. What the Aurora CPL effect does is merely add some contrast and saturation, a bit like the dehaze filter in LR.

As the organizer for the Long Island Photography Meetup with over 260 members. I often get complementary copies of different software to show off to the members of my meetup. I am a walking advertisement for different photography products.
I volunteer for the meetup, been doing this for over 10 years, it is the only perk I get, I do not make any money from the meetup. We are a very active group, both online and at meetups.

I just ordered....I tried Luminar and liked it, so I took a shot and bought this on sale. I'm looking forward to giving it a try. I like what it does with a single RAW, but I will still shoot brackets when my ultimate intention is to create an HDR image.

You may find you no longer need to shoot brackets when you use Aurora. I think you will love it.

I didn't catch this in the video....is there an "optimal technique" to capturing a single raw that would work "best". In other words, a bit over, or under exposed? Slowest possible shutter speed?

If using a single image, produce one with which is properly exposed with the highest DR possible. Shutter speed has nothing to do with how it's processed in Aurora other than to assist in producing the correct exposure for the initial image. If using multiple bracketed images, then shutter speed will determine the EV steps which are strictly up to you. Most use 3-5 brackets with from 1/2 stop to 1 1/2 EV steps depending on the scene DR.

I had a problem today also. I un-installed the program then re-installed it. Now it works perfectly.
Wonder if it is having a problem with many people downloading it. I did not have a problem today when I downloaded it again.

So far, so good, I like it! Before and after, this image is a neighbor in the mooring field of my home marina. Sadly, the boat has not been located post storm. One quirk I noticed is that Aurora rotated the image 90 degrees clockwise upon export. Don't be too critical...It's a handheld shot from another moving boat!

Why not straighten the horizon in the crop tool which it has?

The horizon was closer to straight in the original. I chose to "level" the boat and bring her nose up a bit because it felt right, and there's nothing interesting on the horizon.
