Morning fellow Hoggers, FYI, On Aug 10 2017 I purchased a referb Nikon D750. After using it some We went on a small vacation. After taking approx 250 pictures the camera developed a mind of its own. I had to reset the thing twice. Upon returning home, I contacted B&H Photo, to return the camera. I told them I was afraid of it, as this would be the second time it had to be worked on. I inquired if I could return it for a full refund, and purchase a new Nkion D750. I was told yes, given a RMA number and a prepaid shipping label, I packed it up in the original box and put all the things it came with in the box. That same day they shipped the new camera. I now have received a confirmation that they have receive the Referb camera. Now all I have is waiting for the credit back on the card which they said would take 3-4 business days. I was so impressed with their customer service I felt obligated to pass on the information. Jay, Stefan K., & Luke all helped me, What a super outfit to deal with. Even though they are in New York & I am in Texas I will be using them for my photo needs. Hands down B&H Photo Is at the very top.

B and H is an exceptional example of a class act. If my local camera store doesn't have something I need in stock, B and H is my next stop.

My only beef with B&H is on the pre-order of the D850 and various attachments they took my money on the day I ordered it (8/24/2017 8am) granted I used paypal, but I know of others in the same situation that used a credit card and we are still waiting for our order. I don't blame B&H for the delay (that is Nikon's fault) however B&H should not take the money till it is ready to ship (paypal or credit card).

I bought my NikonD810 through B & H over NIkon. It came down to Nikon calling my home phone after I gave them my CC at a time I was not suppose to know to verify CC card holder!!! Theres more but thats in a "nutshell". I went to B&H and gave them my CC and they sent it that day..... I purchased my Epsons from them and many other things....you are correct they have answered many of my questions in the past, promptly. My uncle who was a Pro Photographer told me about them, he wasn't wrong.....

I think that when you use PayPal, they are the ones that processes the payment, not B&H. So your complaint should be directed to them not B&H. I have ordered from B&H and they did not take the money until ready to ship...

B & H, like any other retailer, occasionally has a glitch or two. But overall they are fine people running a fine operation. Kudos to B & H

No Nikon takes the money right away on PayPal orders, but they are not supposed to on credit card orders. There is a Facebook D850 forum and a lot of people there were complaining of the same thing about B&H. By the way I have ordered many big items from B&H in the past and never had a problem and as I say most of my beef is with Nikon for not having manufactured sufficient quantity to meet the demand that they generated through strong advertising.

Yes, B&H does NOT charge your CC until they ship. I think when you pay by PayPal your computer dials up PayPal and the transaction is completed at that time since PayPal has no knowledge of the delivery schedule or product availability.

I did the same thing with a credit card. I contacted Customer Service by chat, and the customer service rep indicated that B&H sent an authorization through to check the validity of the account. He indicated that it would be released within 48 hours and that my CC would not be charged until the time the item was set to ship. Sure enough two days later and it was gone. Can't speak to PayPal, but I do know that my PayPal is direct deposit and that is why I never use it unless circumstance dictate. You might want to contact B&H to see if you can get your funds returned until the item ships. Probably worth a try.
