Dragonflys beautiful and curious

I have been working on taking photos of dragon flys in flight, It is truly challenging. The Dragon flys have been plentiful and colorful this year.

Larry, Great captures.thy are beautiful creatures. The first image is my favorite.

Thank you everyone for looking at my photos. I have learned a lot from this. Autofocus will get you close but when there moving no matter how your camera is set, manual focus is a must.

If anyone is interested, I use a 600mm lense shutter speed 1/1600. A lot of people use 1/2000 but I get too much digital noise at that speed because of higher ISO and 1/1600 will stop most wings. A=F8 and auto ISO because you are are moving from light to dark really fast. I have a Nikon D5300 and I use a Monopod.

I slowed the shutter speed down to show motion but the rest of him moves too
