I have a Sony dsc hx400v which is giving error message E:62.10. Looking for reliable repair center. Read reviews for Precision Camera and they varied a lot. Thanks in advance.

Have you contacted Sony or looked on their web site?

Yes. They had a couple of "fixes", such as turn camera off, remove battery and turn back on again. Did not work. Their solution was camera repair service. My challenge is finding a reliable one. I live in just south of Cleveland, Ohio and there does not seem to be one in this area. Camera cost $500 and if repair is going to be over $200 I will just scrap it and buy a new camera but not Sony.
Thanks for your reply

I had a Nikon lens repaired by United Camera near Chicago. They performed excellent service, the cost was very reasonable and the turnaround time was outstanding.

Find them at UnitedCamera (dot) (com)

This appears to be a very common problem (defect?) With the Sony DSC HX... line of cameras. If I replace it will not be a Sony.

Check out Camtronics here in Columbus. Their website is camtronicscamerarepair.com or call them at 614-357-1489. I've had them work on a couple of bodies with excellent results.

From posts I've seen here, Sony does not have a great reputation for customer service/repair. I would start here.

One camera does not a company make, look at the Nikon D600. I find the Sony DSC HX line outstanding, I have owned them for years and not one single problem. Please don't let one rotten apple spoil the whole bushel.

'IF' your camera is still under warranty (usually a year from the company or more if you purchased some) Sony will
always honor that ... I've got three 'brand' new cameras (due to 'accidents) from them ... but ....
IF the warranty is out they send 'me' to a service shop in Connecticut .. and it is HORRIBLE .. If I were you I'd check
out a 'reputable' repair shop close to home or (these days) on the internet .. 'reputable' is key read reviews, talk to
friends .. I think you are doing the BEST thing by asking here, ... the experienced 'Hogs' have the right answers.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. Dodds camera in Cleveland just sends camera to a third party. Will post results of whichever camera repair service I select.
