if the tree wasn't in the mddle they would say center the tree, get closer, move back, looks out of focus, it needs more twigs, stand on your head when you shoot. What nick picking. Great shot keep up the good work.

Well composed, clone out the twigs, keep the rocks.

IMHO,

Eric

Excuse me dennis but when I take the time to leave a comment it isnt done for petty reasons, nor do I think anyone else. I have left plenty of don't change a thing comments when warranted. The question is do people want there work to be crtiqued by photograph standards or snapshot standards. If snapshot standards I can leave posts like "DUDE totaly awesome thsat shot rocks!!! your camera takes groovy photos man." but what value is it to anyone. I also realize that 5 photographers looking at the same scene are going to shoot it in 5 different ways and some of those ways are going to contradict each other. For example i am a close up and details man. I very rarely shoot wide angle. my advice is going to be different than those who enjoy all encomposing landscapes. I believe you owe everyone who has taken time to comment on this an apology.

I absolutely love it! It does look like a painting.
Does my Canon Rebel T1i have the HDR? How would I find out if it does?

I have never used HDR processing and know verey little about it. Your application to the two photos that I have seen is beautiful. I do agree with some of the previous comments regarding taking the tree and wagon wheels "off center" and cloning or cropping some of what distracted me. I have taken the liberty alter your work in an attempt to demonstrate--I hope this does not offend.

Wow, almost looks like a painting. I love it. Good job. I think I would have taken a few pictures of it so see if I would have liked the tree more off to the side instead of right smack in the middle of the picture though. But you are right..it was very well worth turning around for!

This was exactly my first thought. I also agree that a few more pictures at different angles for comparison would have been a good thing. I also don't have a problem with the rocks in the foreground. It presents as a more natural setting, I think.

O.k. Big Nickel, Here goes: One could not ask for better composition. In the center of the photo is that " V " shaped bush in front of that rock. Now then, what if you were to cut down the branch on the left a little so as not to take away from the wagon wheels? You need not to cut it out completely, just enough to "prune " it 4 to 6 inches. What do you think?

In other words, I liked the foreground also.

Although, artistically putting the subject in the center is not supposed to be done, in this case that is exactly what you needed to do. To not do so would cause the loss of some of the great colors surrounding the tree. I like the rocks in the foreground very much but it would be nice if that one weed wasn't there. The focus and composition are impeccable. It does look very much like a beautifully done painting.

That is really a great shoot! and I agree with taking more shoots and apply the four thirds rule. I don't think the twig hurt your image at all but I'm just a newbie to photography.

this is one pic I took one night on my way home from work. I would like some pointers please!

This one was taking from the top lever of a garage in Down Town Phoenix 7/2011. Thinking I should have used a filter on this bright sunny day. By the way, I took these with a nikon L110 12.1 15x

you insulted people who took the time to post legitimate concerns with the origional posters photo and denigrated their comments to nit picking. You sugested that their suggestions were not legimate, or that they had to say something so they nit picked. Whether or not you intended too you came off as extremly arrogant. You could have said love the photo the way it is change nothing and left it at that. by attacking the legitamite sugestions of others and by your beligerent response you clearly lack manners. The origional poster isn't complaining so why should you. I'll pray for you you clearly are in need of it.

Are you implying you have a direct line to God and he listens to you. Save your breath for your ramblings I don't need your prayers.
