Received my new to me Canon 1Dx and 70-200 f2.8 lens and thought, what a better time to use it than our 100 year anniversary of our County.
This is a good friend of mine, who also happens to be the Mayor of Okeechobee. He was dressed up in his Seminole War garb of the day and giving a history lesson to all who would listen.
For the first portrait I have taken with this lens and randomly, I might add, I was impressed with the blur behind the image or bokeh.
Let me know what you think.
Settings: 1/250 @ f5, ISO 100, 195mm
When I had my Nikon D4 and 70-200 lens at shot some great portraits at 105mm.
looking good, back was fuzzed out, main subject was good
That is a real nice portrait shot. That is a super camera and lens combo you shot that one with. I do like the blurred background, I just wish the white onions (light spots) weren't so prominent.

It was about 2 when I took that photo and the reflections coming off I believe a vehicle produced those. Can't wait to really put this camera to the test. Hope to shoot some sports in the following weeks. Will see how it does with tracking.
Thank you all for your comments!
Congrats on your new camera. It's my dream camera. I own a 1D Mk IV and love it and really have no reason to move up to the 1DX, so I'l just live vicariously through your shooting!

The first time I've seen somebody wearing Lederhosen on his head. Great shot! Have fun with your new toy!
