I have a MeFoto Roadtrip tripod and use a BlackRapid strap. Is there a plate that will accommodate both without switching back and forth?

It's not camera bodies and lenses that will bankrupt you, it's the accessories.

The tripod socket was not meant to support the weight of the camera and lens, its made to hold the camera to the tripod, this is not the same as supporting the hanging weight.

however you look at it, it's a lot to ask f a 1/4" screw. depending on the amount of accessories attached to the camera that's a lot of stress on the screw. some form of safety strap connecting the camera to the tripod would seem to be in order. that's why I never attach my camera to the tripod without the neck strap connected to the camera and around my neck.

I have a MeFoto Roadtrip and use a Black Rapid Strap. I have left the Arca Swiss Plate on the Roadtrip and have a Manfrotto #323 Quick Change Plate Attach the Receiving end of the Manfrotto plate to the Arca Plate and there you have it. Works well. I have this quick change plate system on two different camera bodies and monopods and tripods. Never a problem.

I know it will require a new strap, but the Peak Design system is designed with a with a tripod plate that connects to the strap. I have two of them and the work very well.

I have this plate and would sell it for $50 plus shipping. Private message me if interested.

I have always used a ring attached to the place where the strap holds the camera to secure my black rapid strap. Then I don't have a problem with the tripod mount.

Check out the Job Ultra Plate (Amazon). You might be able to make this work for you.

I just keep my ARca plates on all camera systems I use. I bought an arca clamp and used the rapid screw to attach to the clamp. that way, no special plates needed, any camera or tele lens with an arca style plate attached to the rapid system without modification. Sometimes I use a double rapid with two clamps, so I do not have to change lenses with action or other uses. Since I have been using the arca systems many years before the rapid straps systems and had an extra clamp, no major changes or other additions were needed. It all depends on what your needs are and how you chose to addres them.
