Well in a few more days we will have made it. The problem is trying to figure out how to Celebrate it. When we hit our 25th Silver, we did it really big and it was Fantastic. So this time we decided to do something kinda simple.
We decided to drive the Coast from Los Angeles to Vancouver Canada. Thru all the rain of Oregon and Washington to Canada and spend our 50th in Vancouver. This way I can take all of my Camera gear with me and I mean all of it. It should be fun..

Congratulations! I made it to 46.

Congrats. My 50th is in two years. Don't forget the bridge washout at Big Sur on highway 1 of California. Check with the state highway bureau or AAA to get alternatives around that bottleneck/stoppage.

Thanks for reminding me, I am gonna pass on doing the California coast up to and a little beyond the Golden Gate Bridge, at that point I will engage the coast and continue all the way to Vancouver. On my return trip I will Take Hwy 5 and parts of Hwy 101 to see the rest of Washington and Oregon that I missed going. I live in Los Angeles all of my life so I been along the Calif. coast, many times.

Congratulations too!! When you go to Victoria which is highly recommended be sure to stop by Buchart Gardens. April may be a little early to see the spectacular blooms so check first. Enjoy your trip a give a wave to my hometown of Willits (150 miles north of San Francisco in Mendocino County) when drive by. If you have time stop over there and take the Skunk Train to Fort Bragg and back.

You'll find lots of photography opportunites. As you get into Oregon you'll find it becomes increasingly overcast, which is great for photography. I've done portions of that drive, it's fantastic, you'll have a great time. Lots of landscape views and panoramas so you'll need a good wide zoom most of the time.
