Fodor's or similar travel guides for the touristy info, but you cannot beat Rick Steve's "Europe Through the Back Door" series to find good local restaurants, hotels, and travel tips.

Hi Sb , Thanks , I have seen a a lot Rick's series . I would like to talk to an expat who has lived there for a few years , similar to you who has lived in Fl's east coast .
We think we might want to go there next for a few months . This summer is just for a few days after a river cruise . We live in Tn now , four gentle seasons , have a
cousin who lives in Port St Lucie .

Walt, my sister lives in Mira Mar near by Porto, it is old Portugal lots of history and is a beautiful area.

I thought Rick Steves was moving to Europe after the last election along with a host of celebrities? I would miss his travel monologues.

Nowhere did I say that we were moving to Portugal , looking to spend some time there ! If one really wants know about a place you ask somebody who lives there
not a travel agent or the chamber of commerce . They have some of the best waves in the world to shoot surfing photography , which I would like to do .
