Go for it, just make sure the life insurance is up to date. What could possibly go wrong?

I wish I could join you. I had to quit competition in 1974 when I turned my right ankle into a jigsaw puzzle running a Hare Scrambles. I still rode but gave up the racing. What are you riding. Looks like a KTM. I raced Honda and Suzuki in the 125 class. Today I'd probably ride 250cc. I go out and shoot a few races and plan to do some with my drone this Spring. Video and stills. I'll be 60 in August but wouldn't mind taking some laps. I like the fact that 4 strokes have made a comeback. I had switched to 2 stroke for motocross because of the acceleration out of the turns.

If you are otherwise healthy, continue doing what makes you happy. Sometimes, these "hobbies" are the medicine we need. Good luck. I'm sure a shower feels great after a day of playing in the dirt! I hope you ask if you can continue to do this when you are 70!!

For sure. Alas bone fragility and recovery times probably aren't what they used to be.

60 is only a number - its how old you feel inside that makes the difference.

UK has upped the retirement age to 66 for the oldies and rising to 70 for the youngsters (it will probably be phased out for those just starting work very soon) They are trying to drag back to work the disabled and infirm by cutting benefits. Not because there is a shortage of workers - just so they can spend more money on other things we don't need and it drives down wage costs.

I have no intention of giving up anything so will be working till I drop. Very few farmers retire, they often work every day into their 90's. Reckon that is the secret to living a long life!

Have fun and don't let the youngsters tell you not to...

That is easy for you to say! I am 83 and can only walk a few steps because I am also fat. None of this stops me as I just drive the car and shoot out of the windows and enjoy it very much. We drive 50 yards and see something and stop for some shots then drive on. Would love to try the dirt bikes but momma would pound my head so just drive.

No way Hose. I don't care what kind of shape your in, your still 60 and your reaction time is a lot slower than it used to be. I'd hate to see you find out the hard way...do things that are suitable to 60 year olds.

Thanks to you all.
I actually raced MX from 1972 till 2011 was my last race.
I still practice all the time with my son. Even my daughter raced before she got married.
My boy rides a 2017 250 SX KTM
Mine is a 2017 125 SX KTM. The 250 is just to powerful at my age.

There is always ONE telling you to slow down!
Usually the first one to ask you 'if they can borrow', Or 'can you show me how' and then leave you to get on and do it!

If it was a push-bike no-one would bat an eye....But one of those will do just as much damage.....Go annoy the neighbours....lots of revs and wheel spin!
Have fun

Judging from these great action shots you'll have no problem!
