Worse than giving birth
Hopefully the CT scan in the ER will just show a single stone at the UPJ, and it will pass
If there are more in the collecting system, or in the kidneys - - Make Sure You Strain and CATCH one
Have your urologist analyze it.
Prevention can be as easy as increased fluids, acidifying or alkalinizing the urine
No pain - - GOOD - - it Will pass. Goal is for you to have no pain until it does (2 - 3 days)
Recommend Norco 7.5/325 - one or 2 every 6 hours. If you're still hurting, take another.
I worry more about the Tylenol component than I do the HC - WHEN used appropriately.
Many say if they still feel the thing, the Norco doesn't make them goofy !

Cranberry juice helps with them. I have passed 10 over the last 17 years, so far, none since I started Cranberry juice, one glass per day. 2 years stone free.

My wife had a gall stone when my son was 9. She was at the doctor and at the end of the exam the doctor asked if there were any questions. Matthew asked why he didn't use a lithotripter to break it up rather than surgically remove the stones. The doctor explained that kidney stones and some gall stones were calcium based and would break up, but some gall stones were cholesterol based, including the ones my wife had, and they didn't break up. Wait a minute the doctor said, How old are you? 9. I don't know many 9 year olds that could correctly pronounce lithotripter, much less ask an intelligent question about its use. Well done young man.

Even Boones Farm, Thunderbird, and Ripple are quality wines. It is just the LEVEL of quality that differs.

Ripple and Cream = Cripple.

Well, just as long as we take pictures of the stones then it certainly qualifies.

i was going to collect them and do a serious stack shot of them but the impulse to just toss them on the floor and stomp the living snot out of them won out so all i got was a quick handheld shot of one.
This medicare sucks, they can't give me an appointment until next week.
And then they suggested i pass a couple more so they can analyse them and give me diet suggestions.
Why bother, they're just going to tell me i can't eat all the good stuff that made the stones in the first place.

I was right about the diet thing.
life just isn't fair. Now that i've perfected my bacon cheese sandwiches, cheese thickened soups, cheese omelettes, macaroni and cheese, cheese wrapped corn dogs, cheese in my tossed salads and purchased a quart of peanut butter, a pound of great cherry smoked bacon, two quarts of praline and cream ice cream, 10 lbs of russet taters, and a quart of sour cream, the doctors dealing with my kidney stone problem have banned all dairy products, potatoes, peanut butter, bacon, leafy greens and calcium fortified juices from my diet.

Most doctors don't know squat about diets
Oh Poo - - so they said you have Calcium Oxalate Stones
Ask them if a bisphosphonate might help.

at this time i'll listen to anyone who has gotten any relief.
my Atrial Fibrillation does rule out bisphosphonate use

If you already HAVE A-Fib, then the risks of GETTING A-Fib seem unrelated to your situation
Continue you Beta Blocker or Amiodarone/Dronedarone - whatever - -
2008 FDA Statement: No Link to AF Risk
To treat osteoporosis and osteopenia, which affect more than 40 million Americans, bisphosphonates are typically first-line therapies, the researchers write. However, after concerns were raised about a potential risk of AF with bisphosphonate use, in 2008 the FDA reviewed data from clinical trials of 19 687 patients receiving bisphosphonates (alendronate [Fosamax, Merck), ibandronate [Boniva, Genentech], risedronate [Actonel,Sanofi], and zoledronic acid) and 18 358 patients receiving placebo. It concluded that there was no significant risk of AF associated with the use of these drugs and the absolute incidence of AF was low, but it would continue to monitor the data.

So far its been 1 one centimeter, 2 7mm, 1 4mm and i dropped another 4mm yesterday.
How long does this go on?
Had an appointment for next month but finally went in and begged to see a doctor and he just said they will work their way out.
It kinda of tickled me though cause i was mad enough to ask some questions of my own
and it turns out that two of the medications the young female intern had me on promote stone formation.
Whatever happened to the real doctors we used to have?
