Apple Aperture not accepting OMD 1 MkII RAW. Any thoughts?

I have been using Aperture for a number of years for its library and PP capabilities. Apple is no longer supporting the program except they have been updating their RAW formatting. I just switched from the Olympus omd 5 MkII which I had downloaded RAw to Aperture with no problem to the OMD 1 MK II which I love. It it's RAW format is not so far accepted by Aperture.
I'm considering adding Lightroom for post processing and keeping my Aperture library unless I can migrate the library over to Lightroom with no problem. I have about 30,000 photos on external drives.
Your thoughts and advice please. Thanks.

Aperture is no longer supported so it is incumbent on you to switch to a different product or convert the newer RAW files using Olympus' software to some format that the defunct Aperture will accept.

Thanks but if you look at the list of RAW formats of all cameras that Apple supports you will see that it is up to date excepting for the OmD 1 MkII. Maybe I'm just impatient but right now I am shooting and have to download to my Affinity software, post process, and export and save in Aperture.

How would Aperture support any new camera if the program itself is not updated anymore? As it was suggested, use the Olympus program (very slow) for your RAWs first and import them from there to Aperture.

On another note, Ansel Adams said that if he ended up with 12 good pictures in a year, he was lucky. You must be one exceptionalism photographer.

Just kidding of course.

I do also use the Olympus software but it is just as slow as Affinity.
If you google Apple Aperture RAW format you will see the camera formats listed which include all the latest models excepting the 1 MKII. I am assuming Apple will update the format soon. My camera only came out late Nov, early Dec.

I think you answered you own question. It does take time, but I would be surprised if it didn't show up. You could ask Apple if they have a time. I do understand your frustration. When I first bought the Olympus PEN-F it wasn't supported and I checked the listing just about every day until it showed up.

HughB - Do you enjoy kissing dead girls? Aperture is dead...buried...gone, gone, gone. Wake up and smell the Formaldehyde. Your new post-Aperture camera will NEVER be added to Aperture. Want to bet? /Ralph

I'll bet. Apple has been keeping it's Camera Raw updated all along and Aperture is still usable.

Sorry to differ with you, Ralph but my omd 5 MkII which came out after Apple stopped supporting Aperture had no problem having RAW images developed by Aperture. Once again google Apple Aperture Raw Format and you will see your error in thinking.

I'll stand by my previous statement. Cheers to all, Ralph.

Ray, I'll take the bet; only because you are buried in the north woods of Wisconsin and wouldn't be able to find your way southwest to Minneapolis where we live!!
Sorry, I couldn't resist as a not too distant neighbor!

Because Apple uses a Camera Raw program that is used by multiple programs within the OS one of those is Aperture. Because multiple programs use it Camera Raw is updated frequently with newer cameras.

Good advice about moving, on but completely wrong answer on "post Aperture camera."

Your previous answer about Apple updating its general Raw Format files is absolutely correct. Soon Apple will do so as concerns my omd 1 MkII just like Lightroom has recently done. I googled Apple raw format and received a very clear and comprehensive explanation from 'photo apps.expert/help' re Aperture.
BTW I did buy and download Lightroom today. It will be an interesting learning experience! One negative, for me, is it's library format. I much prefer my Aperture format which is set up by subject matter, then by date, and also sub files for the same principle subject. Thus l can look up our daughter' s family, pick a child, and scroll through their photos from birth onward by date and subject.
I will learn and use Lightroom for post processing.
