I have been using Jeffrey's EXIF Viewer App and lately couldn't understand why no information would come up when I right clicked into the EXIF viewer. Apparently, it has been taken offline. I am looking for a new app to easily view EXIF information on my MAC. I do not want to have to download the picture onto my computer and then use the Apple info. If you have a viewer that works easily without having too many steps involved I would greatly appreciate your recommendation.

I use Fastone Image viewer (availability for Mac I don't know). It's a GREAT photo editor and it will show all the EXIF info when you move your mouse s-l-o-w-l-y to the right side of the screen.

I'm just going to hang around here a while and see what comes up. I have an EXIF program that you have to download the picture and that's a pain. I have two of them and about to delete them both.

On a Windows computer if you have a photo in a folder or on the desktop just right click on the thumbnail and select "Details". It will bring up a wide range of data, including GPS data. With Windows Photo Viewer if you right click and select "File Info" it brings up basic data and will bring up a map if the photo has GPS included.

With my previous app I could be looking at a photo on the UHH site and right click the photo and choose "view EXIF data" and it would come up with all the information. That is what I am looking for again. I do not want to have to download a picture to my desktop to preview and then have to view the information.

I was just hoping someone had a trusted app.

I use FastStone Image Viewer pretty extensively and unable to get any EXIF data at all. What do you do? I tried putting the image on full screen and that didn't work, I tried it on preview and that didn't work either. So what's the secret?

When I make the image full size (whole screen), the mouse indicator turns into a magnifying glass. Move it s-l-o-w-l-y across the screen to the right. Don't press on it....just move it. Then you should see the EXIF data (all the way on the right----by the edge of the screen). Good luck!

It's too bad. Jeffry switched ISPs and has a bandwidth issue so he had to cut back on some high usage programs.

In Firefox, if you click on tools>add-ons you can see what apps you have added to Firefox. I have EXIF Viewer which shows the basic EXIF data from an image. Assuming there is EXIF data in there. I thought Jeffry's viewer showed more stuff but now I can't check to see for sure.

Note that some programs strip off the EXIF data when you export an image, particularly if you choose "save for web".

I use Firefox for my OS, and FSIV for my photo editing program.
I have added Firefox Exif Viewer application to see all Exif info. The Exif option now appears on a right mouse click: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/exif-viewer

I tried that and a panel opened with EXIF data. However, it's a small panel, and there's a lot more to the EXIF data than what you see there. For example, neither the shutter count nor the camera serial number are shown. Jeffry's viewer showed probably at least 10 times more stuff than that.
