Well maybe someday these cute boys will be some big names in Ice Hockey
But for now they are just darn cute to watch them.
Been with my youngest boy and his friend at the training and thought I would test my Sigma 50mm 1.4 ART lens again.
Here are a couple I was happy with.
No flash used, and all picture pp in LR. (from top down : WB , exposure, shadows, White and Black adjustments, applied sharpening with mask, noise reduction about 20).
White balance within an Ice Hockey arena seems to be challenging. The meter is easy fooled by slightest light changes around a subject, cause of color reflections from the Ice. I noticed this with pictures taken just a second apart and same subject. One get be more reddish, one may be correct and one may be colder.
Enjoy those cute guys on the ice. I certainly do
PS: Don't be fooled by the grate stance they seem to have on the skates. They can barely hold themselves on their skates.

Congratulations on the wonderful hockey shots. They really are quite good in my opinion. I love your comment about barely standing up and thought that is why they have the hockey sticks, for balance.

Great shots of greatness to come. Looks like a fantastic day for those guys. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us, and your time with them.
Great set....
Love the expression on the face of #9 (in grey), especially in photo 3..

Check out the sequence of that photo. Too bad I did not caught this in focus as well. My boy, in white, looks a bit "owned", and his friend is like "HA HA HA" :D
Cute action shots, Catalin!
