IMO colored shots of kids are a dime a dozen so I will say go with B/W to make it more special and of the 2, I would pick the hoodie one BUT with dynamic range compressed to retain detail in the face (bruise removed) and also clone out the pole which is an easy venture.

Hi ,

In short, I would like to make a gift for my friend and print out one of the photos I took this year.
I am struggling to go for full color or b&w. After going the round with friends to see what works best, I am more confused.
So I am hoping I can soon decide and therefore I'm asking for your opinion as well.

I like both pictures, just not sure what would work best for a A2-size print. To begin with, I was set to use the last picture in b&w. A couple of friends of mine had too much fun and planted the image of " uncle Fester" (Adams Family) in my head and now I cant get it out. Before they commented, for me this one was a winner , cause I like his big eyes looking straight at me, lips gesture that resembles something like he has a thing or two to tell me. Overall I like his bossy attitude, and after my opinion this one would work best on the wall in b&w.

The first one is more of a "Boyz-in-da-hood" type. And like it a lot as well, but I feel it does not look as appealing as the other one on the wall.

Looking forward to hear your thoughts
in advance, thank you for viewing.

Cheers from Oslo

I like #1 it has the most overall quality, but take out the red spot (bruise?) over his left eyebrow.

Enjoy the season!

I like the colored one with the hood, but his eyes better in the third one.

The first image, but remove the distracting elements - the light stripe behind the head & the band of white on the left.

If you use #3 or #4, suggest you edit out the bokeh over his left ear. Very distracting.

I would do #4 with the blue eyes from #3! I tend to only have b&W prints on the walls. They are calming and fit in with any decor.

First one had the best smile and color rendition.

I'd go for the color in this case. The black and white images are a bit too gritty/contrasty for a baby. You could try a different approach - choose a softer black and white preset if you use Nik or Topaz.
