Other than Four Corners, I have not been to Utah before, so I am open to all suggestions. My trip will be sometime late next summer or early fall.
Well, the top 5 National Parks in Utah are Zion, Bryce Canyon, Arches, Canyonlands, and Capitol Reef. Do a web search on "Utah National Parks" to find information on them. Those are all in southern Utah, with the first 2 on the west side and the other 3 on the east side of the state. I've been to Zion and Bryce several times, most recently in 2009. I did Canyonlands and Arches in 2012, including a hot air balloon ride over Arches (if you've got time and the weather cooperates, I do recommend it). My photos of the 2012 trip are on FlickrĀ®: https://www.flickr.com/photos/8712554@N02/collections/72157630944299346/, Albums Day 15b through Day 17a. I don't hike, so my coverage of those beautiful parks is somewhat limited, unfortunately.

An excellent set. My favorite is #5 the sunset. Just love the way you caught the wonderful sunset in the sky and its reflection on the river. Mahalo for sharing.

Thank You steve...maybe your photo class will take a drive this way...a popular photo icon near these scenes is Fisher Towers.

Yes and book reservations early as rooms are very to find during John's time table; especially if you have a pet.

often neglect a comment on strong work
here/here
landscape is demanding the effort and results
being/there is effort and you were there to view

Had another enjoyable trip to the scenic Moab, Utah area. On our last evening, wife and I took a ride east on Hwy. 128 as it follows the river towards old Cisco, Utah. This is a gorgeous ride that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. A storm was approaching and getting the "golden" setting sun light was spotty through dark grey clouds. In fact, high winds, rain and snow chased us home yesterday a day earlier than planned. Anyhow, these were attempts to get photos of the steep canyon cliffs with the Colorado River in the photos.
