Recently, I attended an exhibit of photography, paintings and art glass curated for a locally popular art space in the town of Wittenberg, WI. It was a pleasantly sunny, cool, crisp Fall afternoon. The windows of the restored building feature beautiful panels of stained glass and, looking outside, we were amused to spot a whimsical bronze sculpture of a dog. Thought I might share a couple of photos. The camera used was an Olympus E-PL5 digital with Oly's 17mm f/1.8 lens (34mm field of view). The images were processed in Lightroom with an HDR preset.
Folks are viewing, but not commenting - diasappointing. In my estimation, this is clearly "architectural" detail: windows incorporating stained glass panels, the carefully-milled trim around the windows - that sort of craftsmanship is rarely seen in the plain vanilla rubber stamp architecture of today.
They're beautiful shots. You just don't see such craftsmanship nowadays, in woodwork and in stained glass, no matter how simple or complicated the design.
