Don't know what kind of dog this is. His name is Oreo. When they let him out he stands and barks until i stand at the fence and pet him.

Not a Newfie or a Great Pyreneese (they're always all white). I thinks it's called a leonburgher, something like that, but wouldn't swear to it.

Good shots. Love the 1 of him peaking through the fence. I'm not a dog expert but, I have to disagree with your call of Leonberger. The color is wrong. I'm inclined to think Oreo is an old gentleman Newfie. Great dogs. A former neighbor had 1 appropriately named Bear. BTW Leonbergers are named for the town of Leonberg in Baden-Wurttemburg, Germany. The male is built like a Newfie. The female is slender, lighter in weight, & slightly shorter in height.

Oreo was saved from a shelter , must have been abused because for a long time he wouldn't let anyone pet him. He would just run away turn and bark. Thanks for looking and your reply.

If indeed he is a Newfie.he is the friendliest dog that there is. They are the strongest swimmers in the dog world, and are often used as "lifeguards". Great with children. The only downside is drool. Aside from that they are the biggest lap dog in the world

A Newfie and they are great loving dogs. I had a friend that had 6 of them and 2 Great Pyrenees. As they get older they slow down when I walked into his house it looked like he had 8 black and white rugs on the floor with the dogs scattered all over the house. I wouldn't want to pay his feed bill.
