At the risk of having my photo moved out to the Photo Gallery, I thought I'd stretch the limits a bit on viewing architecture......... but it's still beautifully structured, even though stripped down to the bare bones.

Well done Mr Yankle! I hope you have no reason to worry, this image is, doubtlessly, PURE architecture. Well done!

Bob, this couldn't be anything but architecture. As if the framework edges of the structure were highlighted and certain key details emphasized. I like it a lot.

Thank you rjay. About the only things missing are a lot of red bricks ....... they hold up the structure very nicely, but are fairly repetitive to view.

Don't dare move to the PG.... This is a strikingly beautiful photo! Care to provide some details of your PP?

Thank you Mallen. I created a mask for everything BUT the brickwork, then placed it on a black background. I then dropped vertical lines about 2 or 3 pixels wide to fill in where the previous boundaries had been to suggest a skeleton and not leave various parts floating about that weren't connected. If you're still curious, I wrote a tutorial on the process which located in the Post Processing Digital Images forum ...... different structure, but the process is the same (http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-249007-1.html)

I remember when you were doing these. They make very striking images.

Thank you Jerry. I thought it might be fun to resurrect some of them for the traditional architecture forum.

The bare essentials. Nothing more is needed. Why can't it be in both Topics? It certainly fits.

Thanks JulAnn. Architecture in its simplest form, except perhaps the original drawings.

I like this one a lot, Bob. And I don't think it could be anything but architecture.

Thanks John. It's an interesting field, architecture ..... on one hand, it's about materials, tensile strengths, geometery, and building something that can withstand enormous pressures and twists ..... and on the other, it's almost pure art. I love them both as it turns out, but I suspect I'm more of an artist than an engineer.
