In the city for the Chicago Jazz Festival...
Great pictures, Michael, both here and in your flickr album! I worked for CNA Financial (the big red tower) for over 16 years. In those days, the Jazz Fest was held in Grant Park just east of the Art Institute and was much less elaborate than the better organized version your photos depict. Souvenirs, t-shirts and recordings (vinyl and cassettes) were simply sold by hawkers who set up makeshift stands along the sidewalks and in the vicinity of the performances. Some in attendance brought little tents into which they could retire to 'smoke' (not exactly Marlboros) or for more intimate (!!) pursuits. One of my fondest memories was dancing on the lawn with a very attractive co-worker while listening to a live performance from B.B. King.
Nice lines in your photo. Good job.
Very nice. I like the sun's rays in the sky! Beautiful.
