What beauties! Nice and sharp and the propeller blur is just right.
Just a clarification: The Avenger was designed and built by Grumman Aircraft but due to its success on the front lines, production was ramped up by using General Motors Corp to also build it under license. It was the Navy's replacement for the TBD Devastator. The Grumman models were designated TBF and the GM models were designated TBM. Both models were virtually identical. An interesting fact is the plane was the first US aircraft fitted with operational Air to Surface rockets (HVAR). BTW, this was the plane that Bush Sr. flew in the South Pacific and was shot down in action.

Excellent shots, looking forward to seeing more
A wonderful set. With the frame being filled one can see great detail of each aircraft. Mahalo for sharing.

Terrific shots, but I believe the Avenger was manufactured by Grumman.

Thanks. I knew this was the GM contract-built version, and the original was Grumman... I was thinking Douglas because I'd just uploaded the Skyraider shots... getting old sucks! Don't do it! ;)
Thanks, everyone, for the kind comments! I'll post more soon... and try to list the manufacturers right this time!

Excellent and interesting shots. Well done.
Grumman designed the and built the first TBF Avengers, F, Navy's ID for Grumman. Eastern Aviation manufactured the TBM Avenger M ID Eastern Aviation at the Navy's request so Grumman could meet requirements for the "Hellcat", F6F.
I spent time in the turrets of both TBF and TBM's.
