You have had the lens for 3 days and created 2 captures worthy of sharing. Keep doing what you are doing, you have the eye. Enjoy the lens, learn with each image and grow with each experience. When you are ready to step up to more expensive glass you will know it.

My first comment is: don't let definitions get in the way of the joy that you get from your hobby. Shoot with what you have and learn to do it well.
Secondly, I would suggest as others have done, that you not cut off pieces of your subject, and select a smaller aperture (larger number) and slower shutter speed. That means that shooting outdoors on a breeze day can be a problem.
