Here is my play. Quality isn't the best because I'm not working with the orginal file but you get the idea.

in this one you have to even out that sunburn and get rid of the junk--like the garbage can...

I'd use the Shadows & Highlights slider bars to tweak it a bit, and then just decrease the saturation a little bit. In my opinion saturated colors are distracting in photographs like these that convey strong emotions.

Should I just leave it like this?

something to remember along these lines is that you can turn down the saturation of just one color band ( ie....blue only) rather than using the master saturation slider. If that was something you wanted to try.

OK...I am by no means a pro! I am learning to take pictures and I am learning to edit too! I did a wedding and am processing over 500 pictures.

I am trying different edits and teaching myself what looks good etc...

I would like to post a couple here and get some opinions and advice if you don't mind

They look like Oompa Loompas. I hope they like chocolate. "snicker"

I liked this photo, but the junk in the back ground
ruined it. Im no pro by any means when it comes
to removing things in the background but I tried.
I think taking some of the cluter out makes it look
a little better,it's not perfect but all I can do. photonut

The first image is way over saturated. In Photoshop I used the Hue and Saturation slider and did a saturation of about -53 This looked about right but the sky was washed out. I back tracked to the original and did an eyedropper of the blue sky.
went back and de saturated to -53 again. I then used the Magic eraser tool and selected the sky portion. after making sure ihad all the sky selected. I did a bucket fill in the sky.

This is my results. Hope you don't mind me playing with your image. My first upload I hope this works

Would you think the 'Imaged Pic' is more natural?

Eagle, could you load a few of the original pics? I'll color correct them and do some 'pinching'.

Regarding composition for the future: Her flowers should have been in her left hand. They are looking strange in his face. Also he looks like he has a finger coming out of his ear. Secondly...tilt her head in towards his chest a little. This way she doesn't have his boutineer coming out of the side of her face. If you had turned them a little more you could have hidden his hand on her back.

I hope you don't mind, I took a try at your wedding picture.
I used CS5. I made a selection of all skin areas and adjusted for underexposure. I then sharpened with the Unsharp Mask. Next, I applied the High Pass filter. I also applied a gradient to tone down the over exposed sky. After manipulating an image as much as I did this one, I don't what kind of print it will make. Pat

I love editing photos -- here is my try - I gave it a white vignette also. I agree shooting in raw is the best as you can adjust the white balance a lot better. You can download some additional picture styles from Canon for some of their cameras, to get a more neutral picture to begin with, and then edit it in Photoshop to get the color you want. I think you might be able to do this with some Nikons also. In the past I did have a lot of people with dark suntans as I live in SC and a lot of people worship the sun in this area.

I ran, not walked away from weddings. Seems I had an alergy to mothers of the bride. Seems they all take the same medicine prior to the wedding! Seriously, you don't have a lot of control. Make certain you set up for the processional with a target placed ahead on the floor to focus on. The groups are pretty much the same with you playing Rommel. The attachment is something I've kept for over forty years and titled "Picture That Should Never Have Been Shot". Count the number of things this gal is doing, or has done wrong.
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

That's rather funny, actually. I can understand why you kept that photo. It's just about the most unique wedding photo I've ever seen, that for sure. She's pregnant, wearing white, and smoking. What else?

You missed holding her self up with the bunk house column. This was back in plastic, smell of hypo days, and a bunch of us got a big laugh from the hobby!
