#2 does it for me. Thanks for sharing.
I don't know which one the witch is in.
You might post the first one in the post processing forum to get dome ideas how others would treat it. For example I'd try some cropping up from the lower right to get falls off center and remove some uninteresting water. I like the shadows lightening of the processed one.
Definitely number 1. Much more natural than 2. I've spent a lot of time at that falls going back over 50 years. Number 1 is best choice.
I like #2, the light is more dramatic and there's better contrast throughout. #1 is beautiful too, but a wee bit flat (for me).
They are both nice. but I do like #2..every one has their own opinion..in the eye
of the beholder,
#2 no black spots and much more detail.
I would crop the dark side so the falls is located further to the right, according to the rule of thirds. Without trying that... I think it might make a better pic.

And we have a winner. The original choice between two incorrect exposures was no choice at all.

What are you an English teacher?
I just tried my rule of thirds idea and (I think) it works. If I can insert it here... I will. If I can't... try it.
(Sorry... I can't put it in.)
