What are the best places to shoot in Delaware

Just interested in the places you recommend shooting in Delaware. I've done the beaches and now starting on the State parks. I shoot landscapes, candid, street photography. Off topic, because of numerous requests, I am moving into the world of head shots for professionals. Backdrops and lighting are in place, I just need practice.

do a search of the user list and find Bill_de. you could shoot him a PM. he seems like a very nice person. he's from Delaware and takes terrific photos. he does a lot of wildlife but he can probably give you some good spots to shoot. gary

The most Northern part of Delaware is very scenic. Rolling hills, nice homes. I prefer shooting in the State parks which are well kept and offer different views and features. Trap Pond state park has the northern most bald cypress trees in the U.S., and the pond itself offers some nice scenes for photos. Another favorite is Cape Henlopen state park. It has some really nice trails for wildlife, ocean views, and some of the old "watch towers" that were used to monitor the ocean during World War II. In the park, you can climb to the top of one of the towers and have a great 360 view of the area. Delaware is not a big state. You can drive from end to end in just a few hours.

We really like Cape Henlopen, for bike riding and surf fishing. We go there at least once a month to be on the beach, we have a surf tag. We plan on doing as many state parks as we can do this summer. Have not done much in Northern De., but will take a look.

Thanks

You might consider Brandywine State Park in Wilmington. I also like to go to St Francis Hospital at night, drive to the top level of the parking garage, and shoot cityscapes. There are many good gardens if you're a garden photographer. PM me if you're interested.

I think most of the best photographic spots in Delaware, are in Maryland. 😈

Longwood Gardens is 8 miles from the Delaware border. You object to the LG answer because it is 8 miles beyond the DE state line? Little rigid much? Is there a rule in PA and DE that prohibits a guy asking about great places to shoot in DE invading 8 miles into PA to get great shots? Do you dissuade folks visiting NY from shooting the Statue of Liberty becasue the statue is closer to NJ than NY?

Uh, Rick, it's probably less than eight miles if you go on some back roads; but my concern was that the OP specifically asked about D-e-l-a-w-a-r-e and not about Southern Penñsylvania. I teach at Longwood; I love to encourage visitors; but if someone asks me about gardens in Delaware, they'll hear about Winterthur, Gibraltor, Goodstay, or Hagley. It's what I think of as "answering the question."

Thanks for all the responses. I have done Longwood Gardens several times, always a good experience. I know we will be there again sometime this year.
