how to keep little ones' attention for family shoots...

It must take some real skill to keep them all attentive at the same time. I took plenty of photos and they were all nice, but it was very difficult to get them all to smile naturally at the same time!

I think you did well in a challenging situation. I love the striped coat in the bridge shot and for them to be looking over instead of facing you is much better than a forward facing pose. There is a naturalness to them all which I like way better than posing. The last shot, what a photogenic beauty that child is! I love this shot. Nice focus, composition,colors and setting.

Thank you. Your thoughts are always welcome. I got pictures of them walking toward me with the parents in the background and holding hands walking on a winding path. They were loving it and so was I! Fun.

I used to think "squeaky toys" were the key until the young ones would just run at me to get at the toy. So I do have some great shots being chased down and of course, shots of them after they captured my toy. It does get the attention of the adults though and usually coaxes a smile out of all :)
