Dear Golfer Bob,

If your Sony A7 is still for sale, I'd be interested in talking about it. Am looking for one to try using with a couple of Leica R mount lenses, without investing too much in case that doesn't work well.

Please reply here or call me at 412-370-4836.

Richard,

It is still for sale. Forgot to add to the post that it includes the Sony battery grip.
I have one UHH member that wants to see some pictures of the camera. I will include you when I send the pictures.

By the way, I used the A7 with a couple of my Canon lenses using the metabones adaptor and it works just fine.

Thanks,
Bob

Bob,

With your assurances that the A7 operates properly in all functions and is in good physical condition, eg, level 9, I'd be interested in doing the purchase today, at your price of $650 including shipping.

I've not done purchases on UHH before (but have done EBay), so let me know what the procedures are if you'd like to proceed. Feel free to call if that helps.

Richard

Richard,

I will package the camera this weekend and ship to you via UPS on Monday. You can examine the camera and if it meets your needs, send a certified check. Please provide your address.

Regards,

Bob

Hi Bob,

A very fair proposal. Works for me, though would a US Post Office money order be acceptable? Just easier than a certified check. If you prefer latter, that's fine.

My address is:

Richard P. Horn
707 Virginia Ave. Ext.
Pittsburgh, PA 15215

Shipping for delivery by next Friday, April 1, would be appreciated. If there's an additional charge over your normal shipment mode, I'll certainly pay the difference.

Thanks. Am looking forward to seeing what the A7 will do.

Best,
Richard

Hi Bob,

Thanks for updates - the A7 just arrived. Looks to be in excellent condition. I'll get out tomorrow and do a little shooting with it to check it out.

One question: is there a separate battery cover so the A7 body can be used without the battery pack?

Also, do these have operating manuals any more, or is it all on line?

Thanks much.

Richard

The battery door is installed on the battery grip.
If this link doesn't work, google Sony a7 Battery Grip Installation
It explains how to install the grip and includes where the door is stored.

The documentation that came with the camera is very sparse but can be found on the Sony website. There are also many online videos that explain the operation of the camera.

Hope you enjoy the A7.

Bob

Richard,

I purchased Brian Smith's book on the A7 from Amazon.

This is a summary of the book.

While your camera manual explains what the camera can do, it doesn't show exactly how to use the camera to create great images! That's where Sony A7 Series: From Snapshots to Great Shots comes in. Starting with the top ten things users need to know about the camera, author Brian Smith carefully guides readers through the operating features. Readers get practical advice from a pro on which settings to use when, great shooting tips, and end of chapter assignments. This book updates from the Sony A7 / A7R: From Snapshots to Great Shots (2014) for all five Sony a7 series cameras: Sony a7, a7R, a7S, a7II and a7RII.
