Hi Sherry, my hummer with the flowers was shot at the flowers, that is why I over exposed him a little so he could be seen. They camoflage so easily in that kind of flower bush.

Here is that same hummer perched.

This bird was a challenge to get. He would perch for a few minutes, go into the woods, then come to the flower bush where he blended almost perfectly with it.

to all the hummingbird shooters, give yourselves a pat on the back GREAT JOB! i wish i had a hummingbird feeder. i would love to try to shoot one

get a feeder or plant some hummer attractant plants..

I took my hummers at the Nature Center from behind a large glass. I wish it would have been mirrored because the birds still scared off when they seen me move, or someone would walk up. That's the drawback of shooting in public unfortunately. Kids darting in front of you or the adult with their head in the clouds oblivious to the fact that you aren't interested in getting them in your picture too.
