I like it! I'm a lover of all creativity, in any form. What does not move me....I walk on....quietly.....

This is creative in a powerful way....keep at it...it moved me.

Your post was the first to open Chit-Chat. This appeared in the last post of Chit-Chat. "Number 3 - All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism."

Okay. I'm a painter by either profession or dumb luck. And I'm told that some of the Gentlefolk in the "hog" might like to see a sampling of my stuff.
Well, remember..you asked for it.

Interesting and fun.
Don't let the bustards get you down. Pay no attention to them. They are waiting for their liver transplants and get cranky sometimes.

You rock.

Wow. You voluntarily put your art work out there, ask for opinions, then snivel and whine when people don't like it. What's worse is hiding behind your health issues to avoid critical confrontation. The art is mediocre at best but you have definite issues with criticism. Very sad and pathetic. Please go away.

Actually, he did not ask for opinions. He posted his artwork on chit chat by invitation from others. It also does not seem fair to me to accuse him of having issues with criticism....he has understandable issues with what seem more like attacks. And isn't it his right to avoid confrontation? Our conversations should be as kind as possible.

Everybody feels differently about all art. This is not the type of art that I enjoy, but I do like it. thank you for sharing your work with us.

Markly, you who has posted absolutely nothing, are by any definition, a troll,
maybe it's you that should go away. It is one thing to critique someone's
work, quite another to insult him.

I post when I feel like it. I actually like the art work but feel that asking for a critique then taking offense when it's offered is a little odd. Why are you tracking my posts anyway? Calling me a troll is kind of insulting in its own right but I've been called worse and if this is a personal friend and you feel I have insulted them I do apologize. It was simply an observation, nothing more.

Looks good to me!
I wish I was so very good at exposure, color, framing, focus and the rest of the buttons on my camera that I had room to criticize your or anyone's art.
I like it.
Keep up the good work.

I am also an artist. I have subscribed to Uglyhedgehop for at least 3 years. Rarely comment, just love reading what everyone else has to say. It's a bit like reading your favourite newspaper.

The art is good, the couture are magical,Mao carry on and ignore the sceptics, I have produced worse - and sold it.

However, I do have a photographic problem.

When a piece of art is complete and in its frame, how do you take a photo without all of the reflections from the glass.

Actually Markly, he didn't ask for critique, he said he posted because some-
one asked to see his work. No, I do not know the guy, I just feel that you
wronged him and didn't deserve it. I don't follow you, after you said what
you said to Clicker I took a look, absolutely nothing to back up your state-
ment. If you liked his art then why didn't you just say that, I sure hope he
didn't leave the UHH because of you and a couple of others. There are
very sensitive people out there, they do not need to be attacked.

No. You can paint like an angel using nothing but a stick.

Since we are talking Picasso...when he was 12 it was said he painted better than Rafael...and he could. But he spent the rest of his life trying to learn to paint like that proverbial six-year old. his father who was also a painter of some great merit, laid aside his brushes when Pablo was thirteen, and vowed never to paint again in the shadow of his son. Poor bastard.

For myself...I had spent 40 years painting like an "adult" and teaching others to do the same. I now have spent the last 15 learning , or trying to...what Pablo was attempting...to get back to that inner child. You see, at six they really do "get it". Then we take it away.
No. You can paint like an angel using nothing but... (show quote)

Thank you for showing us some of your work, and your discussion. But most of all, thank you for the last two sentences of your quote above.

I've long thought that what the we call 'education' is actually just dumbing down to a mediocre level for factory fodder. You'll find many 'educated' people on this forum, but a few who managed to rise above it anyway and think for themselves. At least one of them has already contributed to this thread.

I hope you've not been put off this forum- the good far outweighs the bad once you've worked out who the miseries are. Good luck with your heart failure.

My mother was native born and raised British and being critical was a way of life. That's why I try to stay away from it now.

I am going to open a new thread asking if someone can define the differences between scribbling, doodling and art. Should be a lively discussion.

I wish I knew more about the subjects so I could better appreciate these pieces. Picasso rocks. I agree with the person would said the photographs of the paintings were astounding too.
