So many great monitors out there. I bought the NEC PA272 last spring and love it. Excellent screen and very solid sturdy base too. If all else fails and you somehow find the NEC try to get it.

Just make sure your graphics card can handle the 4K resolution...

Been trying to hold out for the NEC, seems since it was mentioned in PS magazine, ya can't get them...should have bought it when I first looked at it back in September. I'm on the notify when available list at several places.
I figure the Dell, may be a good alternative till they become available. My current monitor won't hold calibration so I need something.

Thanks and yes, I'm fine with a 4k. The computer this would be used for has a NVidia Quadro K2200.

I have a couple of the Dell Ultra HD 4k in the 32 inch version. They are great. If you use them in the highest resolution the print is pretty small, but crisp.
You will be happy

I'm using this monitor on a Windows10 Pro machine.

Make sure your video card can handle the resolution if you want 4K. It works well at lower resolutions too. I'm hoping it is card related and will find out next week when my new custom computer arrives. Its loaded.

Additionally CS6, Bridge and NX-D are not written to handle the full resolution although the images are not affected. PS CC is OK.

You will need to lower the resolution or use the magnifier to use these programs unless you have the eyes of an eagle..

I can't open View NX-I so don't know if its impacted but suspect it is. My problem with this program has nothing to do with the monitor. Its Win10 Pro related as it works on my Win10 Home machine.

Everything else that I use and websites work correctly.

I like the price, size, clarity of this monitor and the built in controls are easy.

Doug,

I have 3, two in my office running Windows and one at home mated with Apple Thurderbolt on MacPro. I am not a big fan of Dell, had many issues with their laptops, but these monitors are superb IMO, great value!!

Best,

Mike

I just bought one about a month ago. But after I hooked it up my computer crashed;' so I had to purchase a 'GEFORCE GTXC 960' graphics board for $200. After I installed the board, everything ran fine. Just use the cables that come with the monitor and you won't go wrong. Of course I had to make a lot of adjustments in order to accommodate the monitor though. It's perfect for photography.

What processor is in your computer? The onboard graphics on Intel i7 processors is supposed to be able to handle 4K via Display Port.

I have an ASUS M2N-E Mother board and an Intel(R) 4 core(tm) i5-4670K cpu @3.40 ghz. Also 32 gb ram.
Of course, this was purchased around 2008. I imagine they have lot better stuff now.

The crash suggests a motherboard issue to me, rather than inadequacy of the on board graphics.

It wasn't really a crash. The OS just wouldn't load. But with the new graphics card everything is running fine now although with some programs I get real small printing. Other than that, it's fantastic for photoshop.

Geforce are gaming cards, I have had a few high end GF cards but had to switch to Nvidia Quadro cards for certain Cad programs, and certified for clients.
