Seems to be some confusion about the new Lumix upgrade from the FZ 200. Panasonic's site calls it the FZ 330, but B & H and Adorama have never heard of an FZ 330, instead listing an FZ 300 which seems to have the specs listed by Panasonic for the 330. Some review sites are calling it the same camera with different names. Big upgrade features include more weather-tight construction and the new 4k video option.

I believe it's called the FZ330 in the U.K. At least that's what Graham Houghton says. 😎 The FZ330 and the FZ300 are the same.

This seems like really good advise -- your pictures are amazing! What is the difference between the 300 and the 400 ?

Thank you Kindly for the very nice comment. I don't do anything to fancy. I just enjoy taking good photos. The major differences are the HX400 has a hot shoe, GPS and wi-fi features. Otherwise they are nearly identical. I don't use any of that, so I chose to save some money and stuck with the HX300.

A friend of mine asked for help in getting a new camera. It sounds like a bridge camera is the way to go for him as he does not do very much photography. Can you please give me some recommendations on a good bridge camera..one that would have a fairly decent zoom on it also. He wants to do some wildlife photography besides people, etc. He has never had a dlsr camera and I don't think at his age he is interested in that much of a camera. I don't know anything about bridge cameras so I'm asking for your help. I'll be gone until this evening so I can't respond until then.
Thanks..Marsha

Once again...thank you so much everyone! I got so much help in here that I feel I am good to go with a recommendation. I will have him check out the Panasonic FZ1000 and the Nikon P900. I might be right in thinking that the Panasonic is a little better all around but the Nikon has more zoom? He can make the choice.
Thank you again!!

I haven't had much experience with it yet, but for my overseas vacation next year, due to luggage restrictions, I bought a used Panasonic FZ200 from another hog (out in NV) for just over $200. F/2.8 constant from 25-600...should work fine (I hope).

Why hasn't anyone discussed the Nikon Coolpix P600 "bridge" camera?

Do you have it? If so, do you like it? I'll check on it.

Yes, I have it (from Costco) & I'm sporadically practicing with it. I haven't tried ALL the menu items yet, but I find the viewfinder a little disappointing compared with my previous Nikon--FE--a film camera. I've read others on this forum say that the newer P900 is as big & heavy as a DSLR & absolutely requires a tripod for its extreme telephoto. I'm happy with the P600 lesser but very good telephoto but still have a little difficulty holding still on a distant object with full zoom.

Not a constant f stop throughout the zoom...for one reason.

Great thanks! I'm looking for something to replace my Canon SX700 - it is a long zoom P&S with no view finder - so it is difficult to use. I love my other Sony - I think I'll check out this HX300
