Okay, they say they are offering free fonts, with very limited usage rights, but how would someone actually use these? Clicking on Download didn't do much.

Jerry, download the font, then move the .TTF files into your font folder.

There are millions of free fonts available on the internet, as long as they are true type fonts (TTF) they are pretty much useable on Windows or Macs easily by just copying them into the fonts folder.

Edit: On a Mac, super easy... use the FONT BOOK app in OTHER within your launchpad to add for you.

Below is what I get when I unzip the download.

Exactly, the files that are TTF Files need to be placed in your fonts folder, they you will see them as available fonts in your system.

TTF = TRUETYPE FONT

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/Typography/TrueTypeInstall.aspx

Now, I suspect that if you double click on the TTF file it will open IRFANVIEW on your computer and attempt to view the file. So, probably not a wise choice. - but follow the other options to install/use.

Those are Graphics not Fonts. Odd. I'd be carefully, something seems fishy as they say.

I'm hesitant on that for some reason. I have a CD-ROM with an archive of around a 1000 Fonts that I've collected since 1994. I can never install and use them all at once. Fonts seem to this day to be for PCs "DOS" 8-bit files and are usable from Windows 3.11 / DOS 6.21 to Windows 10 as far as I can tell and likely earlier. Fonts can be fun but I really only regularly use about a dozen.

I tried dragging a TIF file into the Windows Fonts folder, but it didn't make the trip.

Jerry - a TIF file is not a font, a TTF file is....

You can follow the instructions posted to add fonts

BTW - I downloaded fonts from the page you posted and they installed and are exactly what they say they are, no problems at all on my computer.

You also need to be a local administrator to add fonts on a windows machine.

Did you click on the font sample. When I did this there was a way to download at the top of the page. I did not complete, as I am somewhat leery of "fee" things over the internet.

Nope... I downloaded and installed easily the same font as displayed in Jerry's note.

TTF = TRUE TYPE FONT....has been for at least a decade now.
