Lens Bumper advertising says it can be used with hoods, but it comes in kinda generic sizes so it maybe depends on the particular lens.

i spoke with the rep at photo expo, he was aware of this issue. i was trying to use it on my nikon d700 & d300, didn't work with the bumper.

Ok-I used it yesterday at an event for about 4 hours.
Nikon D800, 24-70 and 70-200.
So much nicer to have just a lens on my shoulder instead of a whole bag and trying to make my way in narrow spaces (in small aisles) was a lot easier.
I used a longer and slightly wider strap I already had and used it across-chest instead of straight down off one shoulder.
The longer strap let me put the lens slightly behind me and I never felt it was going to bang into anyone/thing. No dust issues.

Two negative issues came up:
1- the locking mechanism on the GoWing I had isn't real postitve feeling.
One time I changed lenses and the one I was changing to came off too quickly- I don't think it was properly locked in the first place.
Needless to say, I checked that the lenses were locked more carefully after that.
Scary thought having a lens fall face first- onto the hood, hopefully.
2- Minor point, but the orientation of the adapter can make it harder to find the release buttons.
Simple fix is to just flip the strap around 180 degrees, but it made it easier.

I need another for my second shooter.
He really liked the idea and he rarely likes new things.
Buying the Rapid lens flipper next week.
The locking lever looks more substantial and the pivot pin (where you attach the strap) appears beefier.
Price is a bit less too.

Thanks for the followup, Goofy. Hey, 10 bucks is 10 bucks and they're both fulfilled by Amazon. I don't think there will be much difference in quality between the Gowing, made in Korea, or the Rapid, made in China. :)
